Many organizations treat M365 as a goal – get everyone onto the system, declare victory and move on.

M365’s destination is not static. Microsoft is constantly adding new capabilities to its apps, retiring some, and changing the licensing and compliance processes.

This means the work does continue after tenant relocation. The work continues – through governance decisions, license updates, conditional policies, and policy updates.

The organizations which are doing this well, treat M365 as a discipline of infrastructure that is ongoing and not just a migration. Those that struggle continue to operate as though they haven’t even crossed the finish line in two years.
