Automation has already transformed migration; AI will now add another level.

Manual migration became impractical once environments reached a certain size. Instead, scripts and tools stepped in – providing faster execution, increased consistency, and eliminating many of the small human errors that compound quickly when performed manually.

That transition has already started; next steps include layering intelligent automation, AI-assisted validation and migration planning with intelligent risk detection before humans would.

I do not see this technology replacing migration expertise; rather it shifts its application – less time on repetitive validation, more on making judgment calls that automation cannot.

People who understand both migration and automation will be in an advantageous position during this journey.
