Tracking BitTitan Pre-Stage Progress and the Metrics That Show Whether You Are On Schedule

If you run BitTitan pre-stage passes without measuring progress against your timeline, it is easy to discover you are behind only when cutover is a week away.

Pre-stage duration is usually predictable, but only if you measure real throughput early and use it to forecast the remaining passes. Many programs fall behind because they check progress right before cutover instead of monitoring it throughout the pre-stage period.

A practical method is to use your first pre-stage pass as the baseline. Once a representative batch completes, pull the BitTitan project export and calculate actual throughput in GB per hour. Then compare that rate to the data volume still remaining for subsequent passes. If the numbers show you cannot complete the remaining passes before the cutover window, you need to change something: adjust batch timing, reduce concurrent job count to reduce throttling, or move the cutover date.

This type of tracking also surfaces stalled accounts early. If an account shows minimal data migrated after a full 24-hour pass, it should be investigated before cutover, not after.

Are you checking BitTitan pre-stage throughput against your schedule at regular intervals during the entire pre-stage period?
