If you are planning to migrate Active Directory with BitTitan, it is important to be clear on what MigrationWiz for Active Directory supports and what still requires separate tooling.

MigrationWiz for Active Directory can migrate user objects, including attribute migration, group membership, and SID history in supported configurations. It does not cover every AD object type typically involved in an enterprise directory migration.

Several object types generally require tools outside BitTitan: computer objects, Group Policy Objects, service accounts with Kerberos delegation configured, Active Directory Certificate Services objects, and AD-integrated DNS zones. For these, MigrationWiz either has no migration path or they need pre-migration remediation that MigrationWiz does not perform.

Across the 9,000-plus AD object migrations I ran in acquisition programs, MigrationWiz was used for user and group object migrations. For bulk group membership operations and object moves where MigrationWiz was not the right fit, I used custom PowerShell with Add-ADGroupMember and Remove-ADGroupMember. For Azure AD object migrations at the Entra ID level, a dedicated directory migration tool was used.

In enterprise Active Directory migrations, there is not a single tool that covers every object type. Tooling should be chosen object by object based on what is actually supported, not on what a tool name suggests it includes.
