There is an assumption in IT that migration has already occurred at most companies – that cloud adoption has taken place and work now focuses on ongoing maintenance.
But this assumption could be false: migration often still lies ahead for most organizations.
That isn’t what I’m witnessing.
Migrations to the cloud remain in progress, driven by M&A activity that demands tenant consolidation and identity integration. Furthermore, businesses remain committed to standardizing on Microsoft 365 at scale; therefore resulting in large collaboration-platform migrations appearing on someone’s roadmap.
Migration is no longer a one-off event; rather, it should be treated as a continual operational requirement – companies that recognize this create repeatable processes instead of reinventing them each time around.
Professionals who understand this shift will remain busy for some time to come.
Do you find the demand for migration professionals increasing or decreasing ?
