Are you uploading a user list CSV to MigrationWiz, then noticing the project shows fewer accounts than expected even though no import error is displayed?
Some CSV formatting problems cause MigrationWiz user list uploads to fail silently. When an entry fails to import, the portal may not show an error. Those accounts simply never appear in the project user list after the upload finishes.
Three common formatting problems lead to these silent drops: SMTP addresses that have trailing whitespace, often introduced when copying from Excel cells with extra spaces; CSVs that include a header row, where MigrationWiz may attempt to import the header text as a UPN and silently fail it; and files containing non-ASCII characters in adjacent columns that corrupt the CSV encoding.
A quick validation step after every upload prevents surprises later. Count the data rows in the source CSV, subtract any header row, and compare the result to the account total shown in the MigrationWiz project user list. If the numbers do not match, accounts were dropped. To identify which ones, export the MigrationWiz user list and cross-reference it against your source CSV.
Do not move on to endpoint configuration or UMB license assignment until the imported account count matches the CSV row count.
Are you checking user totals after every MigrationWiz CSV upload before continuing with project setup?
