Migrations Used To End At Go Live, But Not Anymore

The old finishline was cut away. Systems up, access restored and incident bridge closed. Done.

What’s different is that the expectation has changed around what comes next — not only that Hyper Care exists, but that its staff, structure, and that it be taken seriously as a part of migration scope instead of being treated as an informal cooling down period.

Environments settle down after migration stabilization. It’s also where edge cases emerge — the user, who couldn’t have tested before go-live. The automated process, which worked well in staging, but failed in production.

The migrations that gain trust aren’t the ones that go smoothly. They’re those where the team remained present, responsive, accountable, and available for two weeks afterwards.

Go-live is not the end, but the beginning.
