BitTitan: How To Migrate mailboxes from on-premises Exchange to Microsoft 365
Prepare source and destinations with service accounts. Setup a Microsoft 365 service account for migration with full access to mailboxes and API permissions. Configure an on-premises Exchange server with the correct connectivity and credentials.
Create a New Migration Project in MigrationWiz Login into BitTitan’s MigrationWiz Platform and create a New Migration Project to define your Migration Scope and Parameters.
Configure the source Exchange Endpoint with OWA and admin credentials Enter Outlook Web Access URLs and administrative account credentials. Exchange 2013 or later refers to the transport server address, not the mailbox server.
Configure Microsoft 365 with application credentials Enter the Application (client), Directory (tenant), ID, and Client Secret into the fields. These credentials must be entered for the connection save to work properly.
Add users and user groups to the migration project Check the boxes next the email addresses of the users or groups you wish to migrate.
Execute a complete migration Click on Start and choose “Full Migration” to begin transferring mailbox content from Microsoft 365. The migration will include all selected user data.
Monitor migration progress. Troubleshoot any migrations that fail. Click on failed entry to understand the issue. Retry when problems are resolved.
Configure Microsoft 365 mail routing Set up rules for mail routing to ensure that emails are delivered properly to migrated mailboxes.
Complete post migration user tasks (Outlook profile, signatures & PST files). Users must manually create and configure new Outlook profiles, reconfigure existing email signatures & reattach all previously attached PSTs. BitTitan DeploymentPro automates this process.
Generate migration statistics and review them Click the pie-chart icon in the MigrationWiz interface to receive a detailed e-mail report with all the migration statistics and summary data.
