During the test, focus on measurable signals: compare items migrated against the source item count from Exchange mailbox statistics, review the item-level report for error codes, measure throughput in GB per hour, and confirm delegate access works as expected on the destination after the migration finishes.

A full test pass on five mailboxes typically takes 2 to 4 hours. Discovering a delegate access RBAC error on five test accounts costs 4 hours. Discovering it after you have already migrated 300 production accounts costs the entire post-cutover Hyper Care window and your credibility with the program sponsor.
